Have you thought about which Bible(s) you will use? Will you use your favorite one or buy a new one? Which version? A parallel? Share your ideas here!

I have decided to read the Message version. I have been listening and reading using my phone (You Version) for now as I do not own one yet. I will be going to Lifeway today to see if I can get a journaling Message version.

Emily, I am sending you (or at least attempting to send you) a chapter out of one of my Liberty University textbooks on Bible translations. I would highly recommend you read it before you make a final decision on the translation to use. If you are serious about studying God's Word (and I'm positive you are) this may help you considerably in making the best choice for you! zondervan.typepad.com/files/grasping-gods-word_excerpt.pdf (Copy and Paste into Browser). Please let me know if this doesn't go through. God Bless you on this journey! Lots of love, Wendy

I will be keeping 3 versions nearby. I'll first read NIV, then read the NLT and MSG versions. I've studied this way for a couple of years and have found a reading routine that works for me. However, I will still consult a Bible dictionary, concordance, and commentaries along the way. Looking forward to what God will reveal to us through this study together!
